Water: War & Peace

Dr. Emily talks with David B, a water specialist with extensive international experience around water and peacebuilding.

As we enter spring of '26 under severe drought stress in much of the US in this time of war, many popular imaginings include "the water wars of the future". But conflict driven by water has already happened and is happening now. And, importantly, there are places of severe, generational conflict, that are finding paths to peace- centered on water.

This conversation explores bottom up rather than top down processes which have been seen, in Darfur, to create peace by placing water at the center.
